History

Hose Company #3 was organized on July 6, 1894, and was originally known as the "Bunker Hill Hose Company." The company took ownership of the now antique "Pat Lyon" fire engine just prior to 1900. Currently, the "Pat Lyon" was recently refurbished and is on display at Station #4, the Fire Department Museum.

Hose Company #3 currently protects its community with a roster of over 60 members, with more than half of them being life members or those members with 20+ years of service. The members of Company #3 hold many certifications including Essentials of Firefighting, Mask I, Mask II, Firefighter I, Vehicle Rescue Technician, various Hazmat certifications, EMT, Paramedic, and First Responder, just to name some of them. Company #3 currently protects the city and surrounding communities with a 2002 Seagrave pumper, a 1997 Freightliner rescue truck, and a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado utility truck.

As Engine 3 is outfitted like most engines, it is equipped with all standard fire suppression equipment; Rescue 3 is equipped with much more specialty equipment than most rescue vehicles. Rescue 3 is equipped with four (4) rescue systems, including both Hurst and Holmatro equipment, over 500 tons of airbags, both high and low pressure, 25,000 KW generator with light tower, various airshores for structural stabilization or confined space rescue, a hydraulic jack hammer, and many other pieces of equipment utilized for any rescue situation or scenario.

Utility 3 is just that, it's a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 series Heavy Duty with a utility body. This truck is equipped with assorted small hand tools, chainsaws, both basic and advanced life support equipment, an AED, a Holmatro combination extrication tool, and many other pieces of equipment, both large and small.
